Detectamet Launch "Clean Ear" Hygienic Reusable Ear Plug
Having Identified the need to help avoid cross contamination/infection for regular users of disposable and reusable ear plugs, Detectamet of Pocklington UK are pleased to announce the launch of their very own range of Detectable and Non-Detectable Colour Coded Hygienic Hearing Protection System.

The New “Clean Ear” System has the unique benefit of different coloured reusable ear plugs i.e Red = Left Ear & Blue = Right Ear on either end of a cord or Expandaband (adjustable head band). Available in many colour combinations Detectamet are able to manufacture the System to suit customers colour preference / requirements.
The “Clean Ear” reusable ear plugs are manufactured from medical grade silicone material in 2 or 3 flange styles, the two flange patented design which has a SNR rating of 24 and three flange SNR rating of 25 exerts only sufficient pressure within the ear canal to ensure the required acoustic seal. The “Clean Ear” range of reusable earplugs have been designed for maximum comfort and performance.
The New “Clean Ear” System meets the requirements of EN352-2
The new system also includes a unique Hygienic Storage box, the “Clean Ear” storage box has been specifically designed to enhance reusable ear plug hygiene and safety. This box has clearly marked individual storage compartments for Left or Right plug, drain holes to allow air to pass through to assist in drying the plugs after washing / cleaning etc. Manufactured from high impact resistant plastic in both detectable and non-detectable plastic versions it is compact (62mm long x 40mm wide x 23mm deep) and lightweight (17gms) and easy to clean.
The storage box also has a facility incorporated within the design for the user to attach a safety chain or lanyard to help keep the plugs convenient, clean and protected in between use.
This exciting development is part of Detectamet`s ongoing strategy of continuing to expand its presence through the development of new and innovative products for existing customers as well as developing new products for new markets.

Having recognised the ever increasing popularity of X-Ray Inspection Machines within the Food & Pharmaceutical Industries Detectamet Limited of Pocklington UK is pleased to announce the launch of their revolutionary New “Detectamet Super XD Plastic”.
X-Ray machines have an advantage over metal detectors in being able to detect a wider range of foreign bodies - this is because the foreign body is significantly different from the food material in X-Ray density enabling it to be detected.
The new Detectamet Super XD plastic is a direct result of an extensive R & D programme combing the skills and technical know how of our polymer engineers coupled with the testing facility of one of the worlds largest manufacturers / suppliers of X-Ray Inspection equipment.
This unique detectable plastic has the combined characteristics of being “Magnetically Detectable” with the additional benefit of being “X-Ray Visible”!
Until now, food / pharmaceutical processors with both Metal and X-Ray detection equipment installed in their production facility had to purchase record and monitor separately their hand tools, pens, etc in order to minimise the risk of cross contamination from using the wrong type of detectable product on a particular production line.
Using products manufactured from Detectamet Super XD Plastic reduces the risk of product contamination across the whole site without fear of cross contamination maximising the benefits of using detectable products demonstrating the use of “all due-diligence”.
Detectamet intend incorporating the new plastic into their range beginning with their Pens, Markers, Swipe Card Holders etc, eventually most of the Detectamet products will be supplied as standard using Super XD polymer.
